Furness Vale Pedestrian Footpaths

Site visit to assess pedestrian footpaths at Furness Vale 10 July 2012. Two particular pedestrian footpaths were examined, following a compliant by Vera Mellor, who regularly uses these and had a fall at one of them.

It was agreed that representations be initiated to policy makers for DCC Highways, with the intention of examining to what extent changes can be made in how pavements are assessed in regard to maintenance.  This should stress the need for equal access under the Equalities Act, so that the needs of all pedestrians are taken into account and met.
